Chris Hagen, the lead concierge at the Parker Palm Springs hotel is looking out for you before you even arrive.
“Our concierge desk calls every guest who arrives at the Parker prior to their arrival,” Hagen noted. “By doing this, we have the ability to find out what our guests would like to do and offer to assist them with arranging their weekend/ vacation ahead of time.”
So maybe it’s this level of service that earned the Parker with the Palm Springs Life 2012 Concierge of the Year Award at the annual Desert Resorts Concierges Association (DRCA) awards dinner on Monday, October 29, 2012.
The annual Concierge of the Year Award was established to emphasize and celebrate the integral role concierges play in the desert’s $1 billion hospitality industry. “Our local concierges are the Coachella Valley’s most valued tourism ambassadors to our visitors,” said Scott White, President & CEO of the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau, in a statement. “Their role in our tourism industry cannot be underestimated as they are often the first and last contact our visitors may have during their stay.”
Hagen has been with the Parker for seven years and previously worked in San Francisco.
“I believe that a good Concierge creates an experience for guests that they won’t forget,” Hagen said. “I assist guests with making special occasions magical for them.We arrange engagements, birthday celebrations, anniversaries and other memorable events.”
